The Florida Python Challenge is held annually to raise awareness of Burmese pythons, an invasive snake, and the damage it has inflicted on the Everglades.

This week's annual python hunt focuses on the Everglades but some of these invasive snakes slither around in Brevard County.

But only one snake by a hunter was declared the longest of this year's competition. 2025 Florida Python Challenge: What was the longest snake caught? That honor belongs to Michael Marousky.
