Tim Campbell often played in the shadow of his famous older brother, but forged his own path on the football field and in life. The younger brother of Longhorns legend Earl Campbell and the twin brother of fellow Texas ex Steve Campbell died Sunday of cancer in his hometown of Tyler.

Tim Campbell, former all-state football player at John Tyler High School and an All-Southwest Conference standout at Texas, died on Sunday, friends and family members said.

Tim Campbell, a star pass-rusher for Texas in the 1970s and younger brother of legendary RB Earl Campbell, has died at the age of 68.
