Invest 98L: Tropical depression or Tropical Storm Melissa likely to form this week
A disturbance in the Atlantic is likely to become a tropical depression or Tropical Storm Melissa this week as it heads into the Caribbean, the National Hurricane Center said.
The National Hurricane Center is continuing to monitor Invest 98L as it approaches the Caribbean, and forecasters say it could become our next tropical depression or Tropical Storm Melissa in the coming days.

The National Hurricane Center gives Invest 98-L a 60% chance of development over the next seven days. If the wave forms into a tropical storm, it will be called Melissa.
