Country music legend Willie Nelson announced he’d support Colin Allred, D-Texas, in the upcoming U.S. Senate race against Republican Sen. Ted Cruz. “Colin Allred is running against Ted Cruz in Texas,” Nelson said reading from a prepared speech.

"I know we're all talking about the presidential race, and that's important," Nelson says in a video, "but Margo and I want to talk about our Texas and Tennessee voters"

The living legend has a long history of supporting Democrats, and even filed a lawsuit back in 2004 to try to force the Texas Democratic Party to allow candidate Dennis Kucinich on the ballot.
