Israeli military spokesman says very few injuries after Iranian missile strike and that public can exit bomb shelters

Iran's elite Revolutionary Guards said on Tuesday they launched tens of missiles toward Israel and warned that if Israel retaliated Tehran's response would be "more crushing and destructive", Iranian state TV reported.

Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to retaliate against Iran after it fired about 200 ballistic missiles at Israel in a severe escalation of hostilities between the adversaries that world powers fear could spiral into a Middle East-wide war.

Iran said on Wednesday its missile attack on Israel, its biggest military assault on the Jewish state, was over, barring further provocation, while Israel and the United States promised to retaliate against Tehran as fears of a wider war intensified.
