The Chicago Cubs have added a versatile speed threat to their roster, reportedly signing free agent infielder Jon Berti to a contract of undisclosed length and salary.

Berti topped 100 games for the Marlins in both the 2022 and ’23 seasons. He combined for a .268/.334/.373 batting line with solid strikeout and walk rates. While he has minimal power, he’s an excellent runner.
