“Get in good trouble, necessary trouble, and redeem the soul of America,” Lewis said in 2020 while commemorating the 1965 voting rights marches from Selma to Montgomery, Alabama.

The flagship event this time will be in Chicago, with additional large peaceful protests planned for Atlanta, St. Louis, Annapolis, Maryland, and Washington, D.C.

Hundreds of protests are scheduled throughout the nation Thursday into Saturday in response to recent actions by President Donald Trump and his administration.

As an activist, Lewis was arrested more than 40 times, always carrying the message of his famous quote: "Never, ever be afraid to make some noise and get in good trouble, necessary trouble."
