According to multiple reports, Dennis Smith Jr. is set to work out with the Mavs next week as the point guard looks to continue his NBA career. Smith was selected ninth overall by Dallas in the 2017 NBA draft, but only spent a season and a half with the franchise before being sent to New York Knicks in the blockbuster trade for Kristaps Porzingis.

Smith, 27, has played seven years in the league including most recently with the Brooklyn Nets in the 2023-24 season where he averaged 6.6 points, 3.6 assists, and 2.4 rebounds.
