The Oilers almost stole Game 2 against the Panthers on Friday night, but they're still in a much better position than they were a year ago.

When Game 1 was threatening to drag into a second overtime, Connor McDavid found Leon Draisaitl for the winner.

Edmonton got on the board early as Draisaitl found the net just a minute into the game. The Panthers eventually responded in the first with a goal from Sam Bennett, and a failed Oilers challenge of the goal set up a power play for Florida that resulted in a goal from Brad Marchand just moments later.
