Fox’s 60 points breaks a franchise record that was previously held by Jack Twyman, who scored 59 on Jan. 15, 1960, against the Minneapolis Lakers. Unlike Fox, Twyman came out on the winning end for the team then known as the Cincinnati Royals.

An awful fourth quarter nearly erased an otherwise solid performance but Minnesota managed to escape with a win.

When De’Aaron Fox saw that he had 48 points in the fourth quarter in a 130-126 overtime loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves, teammate Malik Monk told him, “You might as well go get 60.”
