While the former Penn State star didn't dominate in any one area, he absolutely flashed, particularly in the preseason opener against the Bills in which he generated three pressures on three pass-rush snaps.

With final rosters due at 3 p.m. (CT) on Aug. 26, Uwazurike's preseason outcome will likely come down to the final stage. A practice-squad option or signing late with another organization could be available for Uwazurike.

The 49ers have closed their preseason with a win over the intra-state rival Chargers. Quarterbacks Tanner Mordecai and Carter Bradley each threw for one touchdown, while Jeff Wilson Jr. added one on the ground. With the score tied 16-16 late in the fourth quarter, Curtis Robinson's 32-yard pick six gave San Francisco a lead it wouldn't relinquish.
