Welcome to the weekend, Blades Brown. Brown, a 17-year-old who turned pro ahead of the 2025 PGA Tour season and made his debut as a professional a month ago at the American Express, made his first cut Friday at the 2025 Mexico Open at VidantaWorld.

Although the Mexico Open goes back to the 1940s and has been won in the past by World Golf Hall of Fame players such as Lee Trevino, Roberto De Vicenzo, Ben Crenshaw, Tony Lema and Bobby Locke, it’s only been a sanctioned PGA Tour event and played at VidantaWorld in Vallarta since 2022.

Blades Brown has made the cut at a PGA Tour event for the first time as a professional. The 17-year-old from Nashville, Tennessee, fired a 3-under 68 on Thursday and a 2-under 69 on Friday to finish at 5-under overall,
