The TSA clarified this week that Costco membership cards are not acceptable as a newly required REAL ID at airport security checkpoints.

The Transportation Security Administration does not want domestic flyers to try using their Costco cards in lieu of the mandated Real ID.

While a Costco membership might save you some dollars in your weekly grocery shop, one thing it won’t do is get you through airport security. The Transportation Security Agency has issued a statement clarifying that a Costco card cannot be used as valid ID when flying domestic.
