Treasury minister Tulip Siddiq has resigned after growing pressure over an anti-corruption investigation in Bangladesh. The Labour MP for Hampstead and Highgate had referred herself to Sir Keir Starmer's standards adviser, Sir Laurie Magnus, but insisted she has done nothing wrong.

Tulip Siddiq, the niece of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina of Bangladesh, had been named in an embezzlement investigation in the Asian country in December.

The recent resignation of Tulip Siddiq from her role as Economic Secretary to the Treasury has sparked significant discussion across the finance and
