The Aggies will join Washington State, Oregon State, San Diego State, Boise State, Colorado State and Fresno State in the new-look league in 2026. In an interview with The Salt Lake Tribune, Sabau said the move is about “future-proofing” Utah State’s athletic programs both competitively and financially.

Sabau is now the athletic director at Utah State University, so when news broke a couple of weeks ago that Boise State, Colorado State, Fresno State and San Diego State had agreed to leave the Mountain West Conference to join the remnants of the Pac-12 in an effort to rebuild the league, she couldn’t help but smile.

The Utah State Aggies will officially join the Pac-12 Conference in 2026, it was announced on Tuesday evening.
