Spillane, 29, entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2018 with the Tennessee Titans, where he played under current Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel. After spending the last two seasons with the Las Vegas Raiders, he is now set to reunite with Vrabel in New England.
The 28-year-old spent time with new Patriots defensive coordinator Terrell Williams in Detroit last season, his first and only with the Lions. Over 13 games, Davis recorded two interceptions, 11 pass breakups and 56 tackles. Davis is a seven-year veteran who has started all but one of his 89 career regular-season games.
