A 3.7-magnitude earthquake shook the San Francisco Bay Area in California, the U.S. Geological Survey reported. The 7-mile deep quake hit about a mile from Pleasant Hill south of Concord at 8:49 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 12, according to the USGS. Nearly 5,000 people from as far away as Chico and Carmel reported feeling the tremor to the agency.

The San Francisco Giants may have missed out on Japanese phenom Roki Sasaki, but the team has reportedly signed Josuar de Jesus Gonzalez, who is considered to be the second-best player in the 2025 international amateur free agent class. According to MLB.com, Gonzalez had a signing bonus of $2,997,500.
