The three victims were found shot to death inside two cars along a remote stretch of desert road between Lake Los Angeles and El Mirage, officials said.

The Pickett Fire near Calistoga nearly doubled in size Thursday night, reaching 2,131 acres with no containment, according to Cal Fire.
