U.S. regulations limiting the maximum distance of headlight beams made laser headlights essentially useless, causing BMW to discontinue them.

Lasers are cool, right? Well, that depends on who you ask. BMW had to stop using laser headlights on its cars, and the reason is really quite mundane.

For every missed LED between the current and last row, there will be that amount less LEDs bouncing in the next row. To make it all the way to the top there must be LEDs overlapping from every row.
