The Miami Heat announced in a statement on social media Friday that they are suspending star forward Jimmy Butler for seven games. They also stated that they will be listening to trade offers for Butler after the 35-year-old had indicated he longer wants to be a part of the team. Butler is now expected to get traded by the Feb 6. trade deadline.

Following Jimmy Butler’s postgame comments where he indicated he would like to be traded from the team, the Miami Heat have suspended the star forward for seven games, adding that the team will consider trade offers for 14-year veteran.

For example, the Heat can’t take back more salary in a trade than it sends out as a team above the first apron. Then teams above the second apron like the Phoenix Suns and Milwaukee Bucks can’t aggregate salaries in a trade or send out cash in a trade, along with not being able to take back more salary in a trade than they send out.
