Tyler Warren and Abdul Carter have been essential to Penn State’s run toward the College Football Playoffs. On Wednesday, they were recognized nationally. Warren and Carter were named semifinalists for the Walter Camp Player of the Year award. It’s not their first national recognition, and it’s not a surprise given their contributions so far.

Penn State defensive end Abdul Carter was selected Tuesday as a semifinalist for the Bednarik Award, presented to the nation’s top defensive player by the Maxwell Football Club. He also was named the Bednarik Award Player of the Week and the Walter Camp Football Foundation National Defensive Player of the Week.
