Passengers were forced to evacuate a commuter train near Philadelphia after a fire broke out on one of the cars. Approximately 350 people had to be removed from the train, and no injuries were reported.

Passengers have had to evacuate a train in the US state of Pennsylvania after it became engulfed in flames. The service was travelling from Philadelphia to Delaware when it burst into flames. Smoke and fire poured from the carriages and could be seen several kilometres away.

A train carrying around 350 people caught fire outside Philadelphia on February 6, forcing passengers to evacuate. A spokesperson from Philadelphia’s SEPTA Regional Rail told ABC News that the cause of the fire was unclear but that “it was in the area underneath the train and then obviously engulfed the train in flames”.
