San Antonio Spurs superstar big man Victor Wembanyama has been fully cleared to resume basketball activities after deep vein thrombosis cut his 2024-25 season short.

This is a massive update for both Wembanyama and the Spurs as the young center gears up for his third NBA season. He was the NBA's Rookie of the Year in 2023-24 after averaging 21.4 points, 10.6 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 1.2 steals and 3.6 blocks per game as a 20-year-old.

Wembanyama has been medically cleared and will be back to start next season, he told French sports publication L’Équipe. "I'm officially cleared to return. It just happened — I got the green light from the Spurs' medical staff just a few hours ago [this was reported on July 11].
