Alyssa Thomas was happy to see Phoenix Mercury fans welcome her fianceé, DeWanna Bonner, back in The Valley after her exit from the Indiana Fever.

It was a back-and-forth affair all afternoon. The Lynx led by four after the first quarter, but the Mercury took a three-point lead into halftime. Minnesota then led by five after a strong third quarter, only to be outscored by 13 in the fourth.

Golden State Valkyries forward Kayla Thornton and Seattle Storm guard Gabby Williams were the two other first-year All-Star reserves named by the coaches Sunday. The All-Star starters were selected through a combination of voting by fans (50 percent), a national panel of media members (25 percent) and current WNBA players (25 percent).

The rosters are set for the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game after All-Star captains Caitlin Clark and Napheesa Collier selected their rosters.

Two new names to the Northeast Ohio running scene put their names on the map July 4 at the Captains Grand Slam 5K. Jacob Ondash and Alyssa Thomas moved to North Royalton recently and took the top spots on the podium for their respective divisions in the race.
