BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — Cam Carter scored 27 points and LSU beat Arkansas 78-74 on Tuesday night. LSU’s Jordan Sears made a pair of free throws to end the scoring with 21 seconds left. Arkansas missed its next two shots and had its last shot blocked.

The Tigers have an identical schedule, but two of their conference losses have come to unranked Vanderbilt and Missouri. Most recently, Arkansas hung tough against Florida, but didn't have enough offense in a 71-63 loss at home.

LSU’s offense was sluggish to start against Arkansas (11-6, 0-4), missing its first seven shots. Corey Chest got the Tigers on the scoreboard with a baseline drive for a two-hand dunk at the 15:37 mark of the first half.
