To be clear, Chris Pratt is just joking and isn’t confirming his appearance in Avengers: Doomsday. If his chair wasn’t there, it’s because he either isn’t in the movie, or Marvel doesn’t want us to know he is, and either way, Pratt is pretty good about not letting the cat out of the bag, unlike some other MCU actors we could mention.
May 2026 was going to kick-off the next phase of the Marvel cinematic universe with the return of Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom. Not anymore. Avengers: Doomsday has been delayed along with Secret Wars. Grand Theft Auto 6 will now have the month (mostly) to itself, assuming it doesn’t get delayed again as well.

Doomsday is limited, but fans are hyped about seeing various superhero teams crossover and interact. The Thunderbolts* ending revealed that the titular team was actually the New Avengers, and will be returning to the big screen next year.
Avengers: Doomsday will now release on December 18, 2026, while Avengers: Secret Wars will come out one year later on December 17, 2027. Doomsday was originally set to release on May 1, 2026, while Secret Wars’ most recent date was May 7, 2027. The delay comes after production on Doomsday began in London with Robert Downey Jr. playing Doctor Doom.
