Chase Elliott had a topsy-turvy race weekend at Dover as the Hendrick Motorsports driver started the race from pole, was leading the race at one point, but finished in sixth place.

Denny Hamlin went back-to-back at Dover Motor Speedway, holding a late lead through a rain delay and an overtime finish Sunday for the Joe Gibbs Racing driver's series-best fourth victory of the season.

Chase Elliott has been awarded the pole for Sunday's NASCAR Cup Series race at Dover (2 p.m. ET, TNT Sports) after qualifying was rained out.

And, although the No. 9 did not lead every lap, after surviving a late challenge from the likes of Christopher Bell and Denny Hamlin, Elliott converted his pole into the stage win after 120 laps of action. Rounding out the top 10 were Chase Briscoe, Ty Gibbs, Kyle Busch, Joey Logano and Kyle Larson, who rose 15 spots during the opening stage.
