Some members of the DOGE operation are expected to continue their government-cutting roles inside agencies, while others who signed on to be DOGE’s “small-government revolutionaries ” are expected to leave their temporary gigs and head back to the corporate world.

President Trump posted that it was Elon Musk's “last day, but not really" at DOGE ahead of a press conference Friday that he announced via Truth Social.

Musk’s comment in an interview with CBS News exposed a growing rift in MAGA, and now other conservatives are piling on. Some have attacked the bill focused on Trump’s domestic agenda as it heads to the Senate, while others have questioned why the GOP-controlled Congress hasn’t done more work on its own to cut spending.

Several Trump cabinet members praised Musk’s work with DOGE, which will reportedly continue despite the Tesla CEO’s absence.
