The search for missing bodies is ongoing along Texas’ Guadalupe River after catastrophic and deadly flooding killed at least 89 people following a torrential downpour early Friday morning.

Many camps in the Guadalupe river region are adjacent or are partially inside high-risk flood zones, according to maps from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

The Texas summer camp where children died in flooding is in an area meteorologists refer to as "Flash Flood Alley."

More than an entire summer's worth of rain fell in some spots in just a few hours, quickly overwhelmed dry soils and created significant flash flooding.
