The North Carolina Democratic Party held a "Good Trouble Rally and Protest" on Thursday evening in downtown Raleigh. The demonstration aims to protest House Bill 958, which would prohibit state and county election officials from publicly encouraging voter turnout.
The protest was part of a sweeping response to President Trump's second term policies on immigration, social safety nets and more.
"It's vastly greater than what we had anticipated," one organizer told Newsweek about an event that's honored former U.S. Representative John Lewis.
