MIAMI — The Life Time Miami Marathon brought tens of thousands of runners from around the world this weekend and each participant had their own unique story to why they ran on Sunday.

Among the most compelling stories from this year’s Lifetime Miami Marathon was 83-year old Faye Goldin, who kept her streak of completing the half marathon intact.

MIAMI – Sunday was a big day for runners in South Florida. Competitors from across the country, and the world, traveled to the Magic City to take part in the Lifetime Miami Marathon. The event kicked off at 6 a.m. and ended with the finish line at Bayfront Park.

Several runners on Sunday crossed the finish line at the Miami Marathon. NBC6 meteorologist Chelsea Ambriz participated in the event and captured video of the path runners had to take. Also running to win was NBC6 morning producer Marcela Valdivia who has been training for more than three months.

When Frankie Ruiz set out to organize what would later become the Life Time Miami Marathon, he never anticipated it would one day attract more than 18,000 runners — including thousands from outside the U.
