San Diego right-hander Michael King, who was scratched from Saturday’s scheduled start, was placed on the 15-day injured list on Sunday with right shoulder inflammation.

Padres ace right-hander Michael King was placed on the 15-day injured list with right shoulder inflammation prior to Sunday's series finale against the Braves. King had been scheduled to start on Saturday against the Braves but was scratched less than an hour before first pitch.

The Padres will be without Michael King for at least the next two times through the rotation. The right-hander, who was scratched shortly before his scheduled start Saturday, was placed on 15-day injured list Sunday with what the team termed shoulder inflammation.
