Silver was asked about the upcoming sale of the Trail Blazers and whether he wants to see them remain in Portland during his annual NBA Board of Governors press conference in Las Vegas, site of the 2025 Summer League. The estate of Paul G. Allen announced on May 13 that the Blazers were for sale. The process is expected to last into next season.

The Moda Center is among the oldest arenas in the NBA and has not undergone a major renovation. Last year, the City of Portland purchased the arena with plans to revamp it.

With the Trail Blazers up for sale and Seattle stymied again by the NBA’s methodical approach to expansion, speculation is gaining in the Pacific Northwest that a Portland outsider --perhaps former Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos --could purchase the team and relocate them 175 miles north to be the Supersonics.

With two-way center N’Faly Dante likely unavailable (ankle), the Rockets will face off against the Trail Blazers and rookie sensation Yang Hansen.

The rookie center impressed again as Portland improved to 2-1 in summer league play. Rayan Rupert led all scorers with 24 points.

The Portland Trail Blazers did their best to set themselves up for the next step in their rebuild, but missed multiple opportunities.

NBA Summer League in Las Vegas continued on Tuesday with a handful of exciting rookies in action. Philadelphia 76ers No. 3 overall pick VJ Edgecombe made his debut in Las Vegas, while New Orleans Pelicans' Derik Queen faced Portland Trail Blazers' Yang Hansen.

The Portland Trail Blazers made the bold decision to trade for Jrue Holiday for the second time. Before last season started, they acquired him as part of the Da
