National School Bus Safety Week aims to encourage drivers to slow down, be alert and follow the rules of the road when approaching school buses.

The biggest concern a majority of parents have about the school’s system is their child’s safety, according to a 2024 survey by school transportation company Zūm.

This week marks National School Bus Safety Week and schools are coming together to promote safe practices for students, drivers, and parents. School officials are urging the public to be aware of the stops that are within their community.

Authorities in Oconto County are offering tips to both drivers and kids as we enter into National School Bus Safety Week. In a post made on social media from the Oconto County Sheriff’s Office, National School Bus Safety Week runs from October 21 to October 25.

The West Virginia Governor’s Highway Safety Program (GHSP) has partnered with the U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to commemorate National School bus Safety Week.
