Scattered severe thunderstorms across the region are expected to transition to snow late Friday and early Saturday, the National Weather Service says.

Another First Alert Weather Day is in effect for Saturday due to the hazardous travel expected. A High Wind Watch is in effect for most of western Siouxland from Friday afternoon until Saturday at 1pm. Wind gusts up to 60mph are possible. Luckily, snow will conclude by lunchtime but blowing snow will remain possible in the afternoon.
