According to the transaction wire, the Steelers have elevated cornerback James Pierre and offensive lineman John Leglue in place of him. Leglue is likely to get a helmet this week given the lack of depth the Steelers have along the offensive line.

Fautanu is the third major injury Pittsburgh has suffered on the offensive front, as center Nate Herbig is out for the year with a torn rotator cuff, while offensive guard Isaac Seumalo has yet to play this season due to a pectoral injury. Another former first-round pick in Broderick Jones is expected to replace Fautanu on the right side.

Pittsburgh Steelers rookie right tackle Troy Fautanu will miss Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Chargers because of a knee injury. The 20th overall pick in the draft practiced most of the week before injuring the knee on Friday.
