Vanderbilt baseball advanced to the SEC tournament championship game with a 10-0, seven-inning, run-rule win over rival Tennessee in the semifinals May 24. The Commodores (41-16) got their third win over the Vols (43-16) this season as they won the series between the two teams at Lindsey Nelson Stadium earlier in May.

Tennessee’s stay in Hoover ends in the SEC tournament semifinals with a 10-0 run-rule loss to Vanderbilt. The Commodores limited the Vols to just four hits, while the Dores recorded 13 hits off of five different Tennessee pitchers.

No. 8 seed Tennessee baseball is playing No. 1 Texas in the SEC Tournament quarterfinals after beating Alabama 15-10 in its opener.

The Vols are eliminated from the conference tournament and will await their NCAA Tournament fate when Selection Sunday rolls around.

Tennessee's offense has typically been at its best when Gavin Kilen is at his best. Kilen was excellent in the SEC Tournament. He had the two big hits in Tennessee's extra-innings win against Texas. He slugged a go-ahead homer in the ninth inning then bashed the two-run double that lifted UT to the win.
