The White House is stopping short of backing Republican calls to deport New York state assemblyman Zohran Mamdani, just one week after the socialist Democrat upset former Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-NY) in New York City’s Democratic mayoral primary.

Ever since Indian-origin Zohran Mamdani scored a stunning victory over former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, there have speculation about him getting deported. Many Republicans have asked President Donald Trump to revoke his visa and get him deported.
