Search and rescue operations continue for eight miners trapped in an Assam quarry, with only one body recovered so far.

Several teams from various central and state organisations and all three arms of the Indian Armed Forces - the Army, Navy and Air Force - are involved in some way in the operation to rescue labourers trapped in a flooded mine in Assam.

Divers from the Navy joined the efforts after initial searches by the Army and NDRF divers. The operation is ongoing as officials continue to search for more workers believed to be trapped approximately 300 feet below the ground in the flooded mine.

Three workers have been confirmed dead in the Assam coal mine disaster, while rescue operations continue to free the others trapped, with teams from the Army, NDRF, SDRF, and Navy divers actively involved.
