The Canadiens have announced that defenseman Kaiden Guhle, who had surgery to repair a lacerated quadricep, will be out indefinitely.

The Montreal Canadiens may be without one of their top defensemen after Kaiden Guhle suffered an undisclosed lower-body injury in Tuesday’s 4-1 loss to the Winnipeg Jets.

There’s no sugar-coating the Kaiden Guhle injury for the Montreal Canadiens. It’s a huge blow to a team that, with exception to fourth-liner Emil Heineman, had finally been healthy with the recents results to by and large match.

One player won't simply replace what Kaiden Guhle brings to the Canadiens as his injury means that Martin St. Louis is looking at less depth and balance on his blue line.
