Russia has recaptured half of the territory it lost to Ukraine in Kursk, a region central to Volodymyr Zelensky’s plan to defeat Vladimir Putin.

A Chechen commander, Major-General Apty Alaudinov, claimed that elite Ukrainian forces in Russia's Kursk region are increasingly surrendering to Russian troops. He stated that many Ukrainian soldiers express they can no longer continue fighting.
