A Baton Rouge man was killed in a crash on I-10 in Acadia Parish early Sunday morning, authorities said. The crash claimed the life of Luvenson Sowell, 58, of Baton Rouge. Louisiana State Police Troop I began investigating a two-vehicle fatality crash shortly after midnight Sunday on I-10 West near Trumps Road.

An unrestrained driver was killed after crashing into a semi on I-10 in Acadia Parish. The crash is under investigation.

Troopers began investigating the fatal crash shortly after midnight, which claimed the life of 58-year-old Luvenson Sowell.

The crash occurred after a tractor-trailer stopped in the right westbound lane because of traffic congestion from a previous crash.

Police say 63-year-old Alphonse Credeur of Church Point died in the crash. It happened on LA Highway 98. Authorities say Credeur was driving a 2017 Ram 1500 eastbound on LA 98 when, for reasons still under investigation, he crossed the centerline and struck the side of a 2001 Peterbilt 18-wheeler traveling westbound.
