Axel Rudakubana, 18, on Monday unexpectedly pleaded guilty in the Liverpool Crown Court to the stabbing deaths of three young girls and stabbing 10 others in Southport, Britain, on July 29.

The 18-year-old pleaded guilty to murdering three young girls at a Swift-themed dance class, as well as possession of terrorist material and ricin.

Axel Rudakubana on Monday admitted committing the deadly attack last July. Officials later said he had been referred to a government counterterrorism program three times before his rampage.
