A positive case of H5 avian influenza was detected at a commercial broiler farm in Dorchester County, the Maryland Department of Agriculture said Monday.

“So right now, the risk to the general population is really low,” said John Griep, the public information officer for the Dorchester County Health Department. However, Griep noted that certain groups are more at risk due to their exposure to poultry.
