The swearing-in marked the second half of Petaluma’s transition from at-large to district elections, which began in 2022 when voters elected Janice Cader Thompson, John Shribbs and Nau for districts 1, 2 and 3, respectively.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — At its regular meeting Tuesday night, the Greensboro City Council named councilmember Marikay Abuzaiter as Mayor Pro Tempore. The position had been open since the death of Yvonne Johnson in early December. Johnson served as Greensboro's Mayor Pro Tem for 19 years.

The newest members of El Paso's city government took their seats at City Hall for the first time Tuesday, Jan. 7, and named a newcomer mayor pro tem.

The new mayor and six city representatives, alongside municipal court judges, were sworn in Monday. The mayor and council begin their official duties Tuesday.
