There’s only so much the Pistons will be looking for in Las Vegas when their play begins July 11 with a matchup against the New York Knicks. Even without an incoming lottery pick to watch like many prior years, there’s still some key figures that are going to warrant attention for Detroit.

The Pistons chose to bring Lanier in with their lone draft pick, the 37th overall selection in the second round. The team interviewed Lanier at the NBA Scouting Combine in Chicago before inviting him for a workout in Detroit in June.

The Detroit Pistons have done a good job of filling out their depth chart so far this offseason, but bringing in a veteran guard could help.
