New England Patriots quarterbacks coach T.C. McCartney sees a lot of potential in Drake Maye as the 2024 season draws to a close. In only his first season, McCartney thinks the rookie quarterback might already be the smartest person in the building.

It’s possible Maye was being diplomatic (and a little patriotic) in defending his coaches, but it didn't sound that way. It sounded gutsy.

His name is Kevin Kelley, a nine-time state champion who received national attention from The New York Times, Sports Illustrated and the Wall Street Journal for attempting every fourth down and onside kick available to him. Bill Belichick used to consult with Kelley, but never mind about that.

New England Patriots coach Jerod Mayo believes rookie quarterback Drake Maye is “on track to be a special player” in the NFL. The work developing Maye behind the scenes has continued, but there’s no denying the incredible potential and talent he already possesses at this stage of his career.

Hunter Henry, who is Maye’s favorite target, was once Herbert’s go-to-guy. He had plenty to say about the LA Chargers quarterback, who will be in town Saturday to take on the 3-12 Patriots.

Head coach Jerod Mayo appreciates just how good Chargers rookie Ladd McConkey is. He recently called the former Georgia standout a player that his Patriots need to "keep an eye on
