By Tatyana Kekic in Belgrade Serbia’s minister of construction, transport and infrastructure, Goran Vesic, announced on November 4 that he will step down following a train station accident in Novi Sad that left 14 people dead and three others seriously injured.

Government minister Goran Vesic said he would tender his resignation, after 14 people died on Friday at the Novi Sad train station. This follows major protests calling for the government to take responsibility.

Serbia’s construction minister resigned after 14 people were crushed to death last week by a falling canopy at a railway station that was rebuilt by European and Chinese firms two years ago.

Serbia’s Minister of Transportation, Construction, and Infrastructure, Goran Vesic, has resigned following the tragic roof collapse at Novi Sad train station last week, which claimed the lives of 14 people.
