Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is preparing to deploy tactical units to Philadelphia and multiple other Democrat-run cities, according to CBS News. The move comes amid heightened anxiety among the city’s immigrant communities and an uptick in immigration enforcement in the area.

Philadelphia is among five Democratic-led cities where President Trump is preparing to send ICE tactical teams ahead of nationwide protests.

One witness said a Philadelphia police officer hit a protester “wherever he could” despite the protester not offering any resistance.

Groups have also taken to social media to assuage fears and guide newfound allies in how to help. On Friday, the immigrant rights group New Sanctuary Movement of Philadelphia acknowledged ICE’s shifting enforcement tactics but reminded people the agency had so far been selective in its Philly operations.
