On Friday, LVMH confirmed that Kim Jones would be stepping down from his post as women’s wear designer at Fendi after four years, but that he would remain as artistic director of Dior men’s wear, a job he has held since 2018.

The British designer is parting ways with the Roman house after an eventful four-year collaboration. He continues as artistic director of men's collections at Dior.

“Kim Jones is a highly talented designer who has brought his unique and multicultural vision to Fendi over the past four years. I would like to thank him for his contribution and look forward to continuing to witness his creativity at Dior Men’s,” said Bernard Arnault, chairman and CEO of LVMH, in a statement.

Kim Jones is leaving his post at Fendi, where he has led womenswear and couture design for the previous four years, in an effort to “concentrate fully” on his position as menswear director at Dior, according to Business of Fashion. Fendi stated that it would announce a new creative director “in due time.”

The British designer had tough shoes to fill taking over after Karl Lagerfeld's passing responsible for ready-to-wear, haute couture and fur.

Fendi announced on Friday the departure of the Italian fashion house's womenswear artistic director Kim Jones after four years at the helm, without naming a successor.

Kim Jones is parting ways with Fendi, for which he served as creative director for four years. He was first tapped as the late Karl Lagerfeld's successor in 2020, helming the Maison's haute couture, ready-to-wear and fur collections for women.
